Meeting Between SSAW and UNHCR on February 23, 2024

A meeting took place today in Milan between the Organization for the Support of War Survivors in Africa (SSAW), a delegate from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), a representative from the Italian organization “INTERSOS,” and the “Participation” project.

The objective of the meeting was to familiarize participants with SSAW, review the projects it offers and the grants available from these organizations, and provide appropriate support in this area.

SSAW was represented by delegates Aliaa Musa and Khalid Abaker, who participated in discussions focused on the organization’s potential to secure funding and the importance of early preparation for grant applications. SSAW and its projects were highly praised, and several proposals were made to support and develop the organization.

SSAW can seek assistance from the UNHCR office in Milan for all organizational matters, including meetings. This reflects the level of trust UNHCR has in SSAW and its appreciation for the organization’s humanitarian efforts.

This meeting highlights UNHCR’s commitment to strengthening partnerships and international cooperation to support refugees and migrants worldwide.
