2° Anniversario di SSAW

The second anniversary of the SSAW Organization was successfully celebrated on February 7 2026 at Via Pacetta 29, Milan (MI), from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The event brought together members, partners, supporters, and guests to reflect on SSAW’s journey, honor humanitarian values, and strengthen collaboration for future initiatives.

The celebration began with a welcoming of guests, including registration and the screening of images and videos showcasing SSAW’s activities and achievements over the past two years. This visual presentation highlighted the organization’s commitment to humanitarian action and community support. Moderated by Asharf khayr Asharf Khayr

A minute of silence was held in solemn remembrance of the victims of war in Sudan, allowing participants to collectively honor those who have lost their lives and reflect on the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Sudan. A presentation of the SSAW organization was delivered by the Co-Founder Saber Juma – Country Director (Norway) and Khalid Abaker Country Director (Italy), outlining its mission, key achievements, and future projects which provided insight into the organization’s impact and strategic vision moving forward.

 

Guests then participated in a Sudanese coffee tasting, offering a moment of cultural exchange and connection rooted in Sudanese tradition. The program continued with a Humanitarian Moment, featuring first-hand testimony from a survivor and/or a video screening that illustrated the real-life impact of SSAW’s humanitarian actions. This segment emphasized the human dimension of the SSAW organization work.

An important highlight of the event was the presentation of the PRE-TEXT Protocol by Dr. Sara Uboldi, an innovative approach designed to provide psychological support and trauma treatment in war and post-conflict contexts. This presentation underlined SSAW’s commitment to mental health and trauma-informed care. And Massimo Mediterranea Saving Humans – Milano in support of the mission

Following this, certificates of recognition were presented to individuals and students who attended the LDTR course which the SSAW organization delivered. This was followed by presentations from partners and supporters, who shared their experiences and reaffirmed their collaboration with SSAW.

The celebration continued with the sharing of a traditional Sudanese meal, fostering a sense of community, solidarity, and cultural appreciation among participants.

The event concluded with a closing ceremony, including a group photo and final remarks, marking the successful conclusion of the second anniversary celebration and reinforcing SSAW’s ongoing commitment to humanitarian service and collaboration.
