Official Statement
Humanitarian Crisis in El Fasher, Sudan
SSAW – Support Survivors of African War Organization, expresses deep concern regarding the ongoing humanitarian crisis in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, Sudan. Recent reports indicate severe violence resulting in civilian casualties, massive displacement, and critical shortages of food, water, and medical supplies.
Thousands of civilians, including children, remain trapped in besieged areas with extremely limited access to humanitarian aid. Attacks on hospitals, schools, and essential infrastructure have further exacerbated the suffering of the population.
SSAW strongly condemn any violence against civilians and call on all parties involved in the conflict to respect international humanitarian law and ensure the protection of all civilians and humanitarian workers. Immediate and unhindered access must be granted to humanitarian organizations to provide aid and support to those in need.
The international community must act swiftly and collectively to prevent further loss of life and alleviate the suffering of vulnerable populations. SSAW stands in solidarity with all affected individuals and reaffirms its commitment to supporting relief and protection efforts for the people of El Fasher.
