Together for Sudan: Art, Culture, and Solidarity in Milan

Yesterday, Saturday, December 13, 2025, Milan hosted a special event celebrating solidarity and culture: “Together for Sudan”, organized in collaboration with Friends of Sudan. The day offered participants a unique opportunity to learn about the current situation in Sudan, experience Sudanese art and culture, and share moments of community.

A Day of Learning and Sharing

The afternoon began at 2:00 PM with the seventh lesson of the Digitalization course, held at Via della Pecetta 29, in the Casa del Quartiere Pecetta of the Municipality of Milan, which also hosts SSAW’s activities.

Art and Reflection on Sudan

Starting at 6:00 PM, the focus shifted to the current situation in Sudan. The informative talk provided a space for discussion and reflection on the challenges facing the country.
At the same time, visitors could admire drawings by Khalid Margani, created during the ongoing conflict. The artworks, both powerful and moving, told stories of resilience, hope, and everyday life in difficult times, allowing the audience to connect with Sudan’s reality through art.

An Event That Brings People Together

“Together for Sudan” was more than just an event: it was a moment to learn, share, and show solidarity with those facing hardships, while celebrating creativity and culture. Thanks to the collaboration with Friends of Sudan and the hospitality of the Casa del Quartiere Pecetta, Milan opened a space for dialogue and awareness, demonstrating how solidarity can unite us even across thousands of miles.
