Language and Digital Training Courses (LDTC) project
The Language and Digital Training Courses (LDTC) project, implemented by SSAW (Supporting Survivors of War in Africa) in collaboration with the UNHCR PartecipAzione Programme and INTERSOS, provided language and digital skills training over a seven-month period.
The programme offered English and Italian language courses, with 20 hours of training per course delivered over eight weeks, as well as a 12-hour basic digital skills course delivered over three weeks. A total of 30 participants enrolled in the language courses, while 22 participants took part in the digital skills course. Attendance was affected by gender-related challenges, with women experiencing difficulties in participating due to family responsibilities.
Despite these challenges, the project was successfully completed in September and represented an important achievement. It contributed to creating a positive learning environment, improving participants’ access to employment and educational opportunities, and generating significant interest.
Key challenges included limited training hours, lower participation among women, and the need to balance in-person and online learning. Nevertheless, the project demonstrated strong potential for future expansion, reinforcing SSAW’s commitment to education, skills development, and empowerment.
